Please read this in full before you use the Dr Asif Diet app.
Everything in this app, the content, the calorie guidance, the programmes, and the AI coach, is for general information and education only. It is not tailored to your individual medical circumstances, and no clinician is reviewing, supervising, or monitoring your health or your use of the app.
Using this app does not create a doctor–patient relationship. Dr Asif Mushtaq is not acting as your doctor.
Always seek the advice of your doctor or another qualified healthcare professional with any questions about your health, your weight, your diet, or a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of anything you have seen in this app.
We strongly recommend speaking to your doctor before starting this or any diet, fasting, weight-management, or exercise programme.
You cannot use this app if you are under 18, if your BMI is below 18.5, or if you are pregnant. The app will not allow this, and there is no way to override it. This is for your safety.
If you are pregnant, may be pregnant, are trying to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, this app is not for you at this time. Your nutritional needs are best guided by your doctor, midwife, or obstetrician. You are welcome to use the app after your pregnancy.
Speak to your doctor first if you:
Conditions that may be affected include, but are not limited to: diabetes or any condition affecting blood sugar; heart, circulatory, or blood pressure conditions; kidney or liver conditions; thyroid or other hormonal conditions; any condition affecting digestion, absorption, or nutrition; any condition affecting your bones, joints, muscles, or mobility; and any mental health condition.
If you take any medication, speak to your doctor before you change what you eat, when you eat, or how much you eat.
Changing your diet, your calorie intake, or your eating pattern, including any form of fasting or time-restricted eating, can change how some medications work in your body, and can be dangerous if your medication is not reviewed by your doctor first.
This matters most if you take insulin, or any medication for diabetes or to lower your blood sugar (including sulfonylureas such as gliclazide). Eating less or fasting while taking these medicines can make your blood sugar fall to dangerously low levels. It also applies to medicines including, but not limited to, those for blood pressure, blood thinning, epilepsy, and mental health conditions.
This app cannot and does not take your medication into account in any way. Only your doctor can advise you on this.
Some content in this app discusses fasting and time-restricted eating. Fasting is not suitable for everyone, and is not safe for some people.
Do not fast, and speak to your doctor first, if you take any medication, have diabetes or any condition affecting blood sugar, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are underweight, or have any history of an eating disorder or disordered eating.
If you feel faint, dizzy, confused, shaky, or unusually weak while fasting, stop, eat something, and seek medical advice.
The calorie target this app gives you is a general estimate. It is generated automatically using standard formulae and the information you enter yourself. It is not a clinical assessment, and it has not been reviewed by any clinician.
It is only as accurate as the information you provide, and it cannot take account of your medical history, your medication, your metabolism, or any other individual factor.
The app will never give you a target below 1,200 kcal per day (women) or 1,600 kcal per day (men). These are general safeguards, not a guarantee that any particular calorie level is right, safe, or enough for you. Your own requirements may be higher. Only a qualified healthcare professional can tell you what is appropriate for you.
Any activity or calorie-burn suggestion in this app is a general guideline, not a prescription or an instruction. Exercise within your own limits and abilities.
Stop immediately and seek medical advice if you experience chest pain, breathlessness, dizziness, faintness, or any pain or symptom that concerns you.
Results vary from person to person and depend on many factors, including factors outside this app's knowledge and outside your control. No specific result, outcome, or amount of weight loss is promised, guaranteed, or implied. Any results described anywhere in this app or in our marketing are illustrative only, are not typical, and are not a prediction of what you will achieve.
This app is intended to support a healthy, sustainable, and balanced relationship with food, exercise, and your body. It is not intended to encourage restriction, over-exercise, or preoccupation with weight, calories, or body shape, and it should never be used that way.
If tracking food, calories, exercise, or weight ever starts to cause you distress or anxiety, if you find yourself becoming preoccupied with it, if you are eating less than the app suggests, or if your relationship with food, exercise, or your body starts to feel unhealthy, please stop using the app and speak to your doctor or another qualified professional.
Support is available. Please contact your doctor, a qualified professional, or a recognised eating disorder support organisation in your country. Many countries have dedicated eating disorder helplines and charities that can offer confidential, specialist help.
If you feel unwell, or think you may be having a medical emergency, do not use this app. Contact your local emergency services immediately, or go to your nearest emergency department.
This app does not monitor you, does not detect medical problems, and cannot respond to them.
By tapping "I Agree" in the app, you confirm that:
If you cannot confirm all of the above, please do not continue. Speak to your doctor first.
